Through the Lake George DRI Open Call for Projects process which has now concluded, 19 Public and Private projects were submitted. All projects will be reviewed, further information may be requested from the State and LPC of the sponsors. The consultant team will continue to revise projects with sponsors, and will be presented at the next Lake George LPC Meeting (11/04/24).
The Small Project Fund interest form is designed to support the Town & Village’s case to receive up to $600,000 in award funding from NY DOS, where residents, business owners, and other interested parties can then apply from grant fund. The goal of the small project fund is to support with targeted revitalization efforts such building improvements and/or business assistance. The process has now concluded, and interest forms are no longer being accepted. Stay tuned for more information regarding the Small Projects Fund!

Lake George
Downtown Lake George is undergoing a renaissance which reverberates into every facet of life here, fueling new entrepreneurial enterprises, enhancing cultural heritage and recreation tourism, and elevating recognition of the Town and Village as one of the most special places in NY to visit, live, work and play.
Roughly $117 million of public and private investment has been injected into this 109-acre DRI Boundary area and its periphery over the past decade, some of those dollars being previously-awarded State grants by the Capital Region REDC and many of those dollars going towards infrastructure investment to create capacity for future growth. An infusion of DRI funding for transformative projects in the proposed Lake George district would build on these public and private investments in this area to catalyze further cultural, recreational and community development investment and accelerate redevelopment of underutilized properties
A Vision for
Lake George
As part of an iterative public engagement process, the following vision statement was revised by the Lake George DRI Local Planning Committee and vetted by the community, at LPC 2.
“The Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) investment in Lake George’s downtown will boost residents' quality of life, enhance the visitor experience, and preserve historical and environmental resources. We're committed to our vibrant community, attracting and accommodating social and economic growth, and supporting an inclusive workforce and sustainable environment, to strengthen the year-round economy for future generations.”
